私の住む小豆島は石の島で、江戸時代には大坂城の石垣再建にこの島の石も使われました。
小豆島北部地域活性化の一つ、日本遺産の構成文化財である大坂城残石記念公園をテーマにてぬぐいのデザインをしました。
昔ながらの石の切り出し方で、大坂城に運び出されるまでがこの一枚でわかります。

Shodoshima, where I live, is a stone island, and during the Edo period, stones from this island were used to rebuild the stone walls of Osaka Castle.
The towel design was based on the theme of Osaka Castle Remains Memorial Park, a cultural asset that is part of the Japan Heritage Site and is one of the efforts to revitalize the northern part of Shodoshima.
This photo shows how the stone was cut using traditional methods, all the way to being transported to Osaka Castle.
